"I worked on this series during the month of August after spending five months in confinement in Mexico City.
In these works on paper I intended to capture time, reminiscent of desperately trying to catch a fly or a feeling. Time is traced by sluggish snails, suspended smoke in the air, intertwined bodies, whirling flies. While exploring the sense of movement and time, I was interested in the idea of a vicious and virtuous circle. These drawings are meant to exist within that uncertainty, in a space that moves slowly and awaits to see where these events will lead to." - Maria Fragoso, 2020
