"Water is symbolic of the unconscious. Things lurk in the water. Monstrous things. You can go fishing in your being for answers. Ask questions and wait for answers to appear. Crimes take place at night. Many predators are nocturnal. Humans can’t see well in the dark. Predators inhabit where we do not go. When you betray yourself and run away from your destiny, your anxiety gets
bigger and you drown in watery chaos.
Chaos is the unknown, represented by a monster that swallows you up and pulls you down.
In chaos, when you decide what you’re supposed to do, you rise up renewed, and fix the city , such as Jonah and the Whale (a story in the Quran and Bible). The whale (or large sea creature) is like a dragon: something to conquer which reveals a thing of value.
All cultures fall into disarray and atrophy; it is their nature. The benevolent, ageing state will stand in opposition to innovation (the playful spirit of youth), even if it’s positive, transformative, and freeing to the old state. Know this to not become bitter. Therefore, it is the responsibility of the younger generation to rescue one’s father (symbolic of ageing cultures, states, etc.) from the chaotic depths and integrate with that, to save both. It is one’s duty to one’s culture and soul. It is not enough to save yourself."- Tramaine de Senna, 2020
