"I used to eat the dinosaur biscuits since childhood. They carry my memories as a Madeleine the Proust. This is why I found it obvious to borrow their shapes to create paintings. More conceptually, I wanted to question the notion of creation today, and how art becomes an industrial and globalized product, but also something sweet and attractive like these biscuits. In addition to that, the dinosaurs reflects a past and disappeared era which is paradoxal with the notion of serial production where everything is replaceable. My final gesture would be to bury them, as a nostalgic tribute to the past." - Stéphane Abitbol, 2020
