Robuche and Alexis Bondoux designed this piece together as part of a residency weekend at Fanfare, an art
and graphic design gallery in Amsterdam. Alexis Bondoux was invited to build furniture while Robuche were
painting almost continuously during two days in that space.
They see this piece as a memory of this moment where they tried to mix their practices in this context of
intense production. From a pile of leftovers collected in their workshops, and raw material from the streets,
they composed and made up this semi-functional object. This furniture piece reflects a visual conversation
between them mainly based on maximalism and spontaneity. Whether it is Robuche painting or Alexis
Bondoux making objects, the performative building process remains a key element in this project.
